About Us

Amanda’s Wines was set up by me, Amanda Gallou, and my sister Susanne Perkins. We want to bring the true taste of artisan, handmade, French wines to the UK.

We import our wines direct from small French vineyards which until now have only sold their wines locally. We stock them in our warehouse and sell them solely through this website.

We carefully select our wines from growers whose families have worked the land for centuries. Their vineyards are situated in the heart of the Loire Valley, amongst the most fabulous châteaux, forests, fauna and flora; and their passion for wine shines through in the exquisite selections made available to you through this website.

Amanda Gallou

I have been living in Valaire in the Loire Valley since marrying Jean-Marc Gallou in 1995. I am well ensconced in the area and I’m acquainted with most of my fellow local winegrowers. Jean-Marc and I live above our cellars in a large house and we have 5 beautiful cats.

Susanne Perkins

I am a busy GP doctor in the South East of England. However, I manage to visit Jean-Marc and Amanda in Valaire quite often. I also send all my friends over there every time they need wine for ceremonies and weddings.

Have started on your wonderful Gamay and brings back great memories of our cycling holiday.

Glad its going well and will let the troops know and talk the wine talk as you are cheaper than what we all buy at tesco and much more classy, elegant, tasteful and chemical free.  Makes drinking merry again instead of painful.

Wine was received, and the delivery was spot on - it also arrived sooner than expected which was great.  I decided to share it round the office and gave a bottle to each member of staff to take home... - and it has gone down (literally) very well.

and they are both very good!
