How to Taste Wine

If you’ve taken the wise decision to order one of our delicious mixed cases of wine and you’re wondering in which order to sample them, read on …

Wine tasting has no hard and fast rules, but in general we recommend:

  • Tasting the Dry wines before the Sweet wines.
  • Tasting the White wines before the Red wines.
  • Tasting the Young wines before the Old wines.

One exception to the above would be to taste the Chardonnay before the Sauvignon, even though the Chardonnay is the older wine. This is because the strong flavours of the Sauvignon would flatten the more gentle flavours of the Chardonnay.

However you choose to taste them, we hope you enjoy your selections from Amanda’s Wines.
